Head to Cape Cod (Part 2)

Military Travel – Cape Cod

2013-09-17 16.29.54   For the Marine, Army, Navy, Coast Guard and Air Force family, a favorite location to stay is the Cove at Yarmouth. Located right on Main Street, it’s location is great but easy to miss for the first timer. This is a timeshare property, which means plenty of fun activities for the military families looking to keep the kids occupied while the adults enjoy the Jacuzzi and indoor pool. The rooms are not very easy to find and you might find yourself walking through a maze to get to your room, but the trek is worth it. One word of caution is that if you have brought almost everything from home, ask for a room on the first floor. You might have to lug your luggage up the stairs if you can’t find the elevator! The one bedroom loft unit is always a favorite for families. All rooms feature a kitchenette – a mini fridge, microwave, and dishes for you to use. In the loft unit, the bedroom and one bathroom is located up the stairs, which allows the kids to rough it out and sleep in the pull out sofabed. This allows parents to let the kids have their own fun while keeping an ear out for emergencies.

Another viable option is Green Harbor on the Ocean. The grounds here are immaculate and you awake to sprawling green which leads out to the blue ocean water. Many consider this hotel a gem and hidden secret, perfect for mid-Cape exploring. The grounds and rooms are well cared for and well-appointed. You have a kitchen with fridge and utensils and don’t be surprised if you find yourself wanting to make your own breakfast so that you can catch the breathtaking views from your room. Be sure to take advantage of the many amenities like bikes and kayaks, which will only add to your memories of this hotel.
